Handmade shawl, natural silk with merino wool.

Composition: 100% natural silk and 100% natural merino wool.

The inspiration was greenstone; a jade from New Zealand called Pounamu.
Pounamu is a hard, highly valued stone mainly found as boulders. It is also called greenstone or New Zealand jade. It is treasured by Māori because: it is strong and beautiful. Greenstone is said to have many healing abilities, including protecting you from negative energies and giving you strength and power that may be lacking. It helps to increase energy and stamina, giving you the motivation to get through any struggles you may be facing.

You can wash the shawl by hand in warm water and iron (set to silk).

The pattern is laid on the natural silk using different colours of merino wool, the whole is long-term rubbed in water so long until merino wool fibres pass through the silk and join together. A combination of wool and silk is very durable and plastic. The felted silk scarf is always created in a unique piece. You can wear a silk scarf in many ways: our video on how to wear a shawl. Our silk shawls are different from the typical stiff felt scarves because they are made from the highest quality merino wool and genuine 100% silk. Merino wool is very delicate and soft and doesn't irritate the skin. You can be sure that your scarf is unique.
