Handmade Merino Wool & Italian Silk Shawl
Soft, lightweight and beautifully fluid, this handmade shawl combines extra-fine merino wool with luxurious natural Italian silk.
Using the traditional nuno felting technique, fine layers of merino wool are carefully felted into the silk, becoming one beautifully textured fabric. The result is wonderfully soft and flexible — nothing like the thick or stiff felt you may imagine.
It feels incredibly light around the shoulders while still giving you the gentle warmth of merino wool. The natural silk adds an elegant drape and subtle sheen, making the shawl beautiful with a simple everyday outfit as well as for weddings, dinners and special occasions.
Every shawl is individually designed and handmade in my New Zealand studio. The colours, textures and placement of fibres make each piece truly one of a kind.

Wear it loosely over your shoulders, wrap it around your neck or style it in different ways to create your own look. You can also watch my styling video for inspiration.
Care
Gently hand wash in lukewarm water using a wool-safe detergent. Reshape while damp and lay flat or hang to dry. Iron gently on a silk/wool setting if needed.
