🌿 Aotearoa Blossoms – Native Flowers in Motion

I created this textile artwork as a tribute to the native beauty of Aotearoa. Using premium extra fine merino wool layered with silk fibres, I shaped each element slowly by hand, allowing the movement of wind, sky and grasses to emerge naturally.

Golden kōwhai and vivid red pōhutukawa rise gently above flowing grasses, suspended between sky and earth. The sculptural red blossoms add subtle depth, giving the piece a quiet yet powerful presence.

This artwork reflects my growing connection to New Zealand’s landscape — its light, colours and seasonal rhythm.
